STUDIES IN I THESSALONIANS- PART 18 Listen to Audio

Intro: Ch.5:14-15- local church= family; only with people
from different backgrounds—abilities—mindsets.
 
I. DEALING WITH DIFFICULT PEOPLE- 5:14
1) “warn the unruly”- word comes from military – to be
out rank or line-
  Confrontation may be necessary!
2) “comfort the fainthearted”- literally “small-soul”-
lacking capacity or strength for endurance
 
3) “uphold the weak”- can be physical or moral weakness

  Believers who need strength in face of a challenge-
This is a ministry of support.
 
4) “be patient toward all”- first in a series of use of “all”
There is a need for someone to be patient, longsuffering,
and ready to assist regardless of frequency.
 
II. DELIVERING DYNAMIC PHILANTHROPY.-5:15
Gal.5:14
1) Eliminate revenge or retaliation as form of thinking-
“no one render evil for evil”-  Story of Hamen & Mordecai
 
2) Give or render “good” by pursuing “good”-
Rom.12:14, 17-21  good=in character, beneficial in effect
Such “good” constructs, enables and motivates.
