Intro: Genesis 6:1-9- known as the Ark builder, yet
Noah was a man of remarkable courage
I. Noah faced moral & spiritual decay of great
proportions. 6:3- “not always strive with man”
6:5- “wickedness was great” 6:11- “filled with violence”
1) Noah lived in the world of violence & evil more than
100 years
2) As Noah was—so are we pressured by world-system
to be shaped by its values- Rom.12:2
3) God’s grace was the means of victory- 6:8
II. Noah presented righteous living to an
unrighteous generation. II Pet.2:5
1) He was called to a active presentation of God’s view-
III. Noah combined fear & courage in a proper
manner.
1) He feared God, not man- Lk.12:4-5
2) He exhibited courage in the face of murderers
and haters of God-
IV. Noah valued qualities of godliness above the
appetites of the flesh. Lk.17:26-27
1) “eat, drink, married…” = pleasure driven
2) They did not regard Noah’s warning!
V. Noah responded to the directive of God. -6:22
1) While others listened to their appetites of flesh, Noah
heard God’s warning- 6:13
2) Noah believed God and acted on His statements.
