Intro: Exodus 14- one of the most dramatic events in all of

The OT. 

 

I. The Divine Arrangement- 14:1-2

1) Location was communicated to Moses after Israel had

been promised daily guidance. See 13:21-22

  As we have been promised guidance by the Holy

  Spirit- Rom.8:4

2) God knew the consequences of this arrangement-

  14:3-4,     Psa.103:14

3) This arrangement of testing was adapted to the spiritual

  condition and needs of Israel-  13:1-18

4) Not all of this was clear to Israel-

 

II. The Divine Announcement-

1) Initially, Israel responded to this crisis with despair –

  14:11-12

2) Moses responded with courage- 14;13-14

3) The responded with a rebuke- 14:5

4) Progress in a crisis requires obedience- 14:5 “go..”

 

III. The Divine Accomplishment- Psa.106:9-12

1) Division of the Red Sea

2) Destruction of the Egyptians- 14:26-28

3) Deliverance of Israel- 14:30-31
