Intro: I Peter 1:22 – 2:2- Inculcation of doctrine-

Inculcation=to impress upon the mind b frequent

Repetition

 

1.Spiritual birth results in a need for spiritual

nourishment- I Pet.2:2

2. To appreciate the value of this nourishment,

review the legacy of scripture:

 

I. THE BIBLE CLAIMS UNIQUE PROPERTIES:

1) Inspiration that may be trusted-II Tim.3:16

 

2) Accuracy that may be confirmed- Luke 1

 

3) Impact that may be experienced-II Thess.2:13

 

II. THE BIBLE CLAIMS A UNIQUE HERITAGE:

1) OT books collected by formal priesthood of Israel,

and NT books collected by informal priesthood of

believers tells a single story.

 

2) The hand of preservation upon the Bible is

unique.  Psa.100:5

  1.Would God inspire the originals and then decline

to preserve them?   2.Would God provide the truth

but not protect the truth?

 

III. THE BIBLE PRESENTS A UNIQUE WORLD-

VIEW.

1) That the Eternal,infinite God desires fellowship with

man, the crown of His creative work

 

2) That the Eternal, infinite God sent His Son to

redeem & reconcile His rebellious image-bearers!
