Intro: studying Understanding Personal Destiny- in

relation of our place in history.

I. We are assured every believer has significance

with respect to God’s purposes.

1) A sense of significance is essential to validation

before God-  we require meaning in our lives!

 

2) The “why of life?” and “why am I here?” are not

foolish questions, but reflect a God-given hunger

 

II. Placed where we are in human history provides

a variety of challenges to our destiny.

Esther 4:14 “who knows whether….”

1) It is possible to be born in either a positive or

negative period of history.

  “trends” may reflect intense evangelization or

spiritual decay!

 

2) Each trend has unique opportunities & obstructions.

 

III. Clearly, God uses a variety of vessels to impact

this world for His Son.  II Tim.2:20-21

1) God may have used Balaam’s donkey—but God isn’t

looking for more donkeys.

 

IV. Understanding personal destiny brings together

the following:   John 10:10

1) A frame of thinking sufficient to comprehend large

purposes.  Col. 1:9

 

2) The practice of effective Servanthood- Jn.15:14-15

 

3) Viewing personal destiny through the lens of positive

promises from scripture.  Eph.2:20-21, Col.2:10, Rom.8:28,

I Cor.10:13 and more
