sketch of this young woman.  Observe her faith in

the three responses to Gabriel.

I. TO THE ANGEL GREETING, WE SEE A CONCERNED

RESPONSE.  See 1:29

1.Mary’s faith involved meditation/reflection-see

2.A visitation by God’s spokesman was cause for

deep interest.  “If an angel spoke to me, I would…”

II. TO THE ANGELIC REVELATION, WE SEE A

CONFUSED RESPONSE.   See 1:34

1.The finest believers have moments of doubt and

misunderstanding.

2. Faith usually hesitates at the “how to…”

III. TO THE ANGELIC EXPLANATION, WE SEE

A CONFIDENT RESPONSE. See 1:38
