CREATION SERIES – PART 1

Intro: Genesis 1:26-27, 31, 2:3, 5:1-2- show God as

The Creator of the Universe—see also Mk.13:19, Rev.4:11

I. Clearly, the God described in holy scripture claims

the title as Creator of the material & spiritual world,

visible & invisible.

  Isaiah, the prophet sought to re-establish this truth of the

Creator-God during days of spiritual decay in Israel-

See 40:26, 42:5, 43:1,7, 45:7, 12, 18

II. The language conveys a direct creation during a

6 day span, with Israel called to a Sabbath-rest just

as God rested from creation.  See Ex.20:1-11

III. Following the finished creation was the spiritual

disobedience of its appointed head—Adam.  This failure

or fall of Adam altered or marred the created world.

See Rom.5:12, 15, 17,18 as well as 8:20-22

In view of these truths, we suggest the following:

1) Failure to honor the God of the scripture as Creator is

to essentially err in a basic truth.

2) If the material world is God’s creation, then it follows that

men & women have stewardship responsibilities to Him.

3) Failure to respect nature has often led to destruction of

environment and depletion of resources.  Isaiah 24:3-6
