CREATION SERIES
– PART 4

Intro:
Genesis 1:26-27- mankind is made in the image
Of God—what does that
entail?
Our
creationist view brings 3 essential elements to
humanity:
I.
Dignity as in the image of God- Psa.8:3-8
“crowned
with glory & honor” = image bearers
1) Having this divine image is
reflected in humanity’s
essential makeup- Gen.2:7
Ø
Body- capacity to relate to our environment- 5
senses.
Ø
Soul- capacity for self-consciousness and for
relating
to
others
Ø
Spirit- capacity for relation to God- including the
function of intuition- Mk.2:8 and Acts
17:16
*Man is not an animal—made
distinctly- Gen.1 and 2.
II.
Value as having an eternal soul-Matt.16:25-26
1) This soul is eternal and,
therefore, has enormous value
living some where eternally. Heaven or
Hell
2) This soul has 2 properties of
great importance:
Self-consciousness- awareness that we apart from
others-
Includes self-reflection making us
individuals with ideas,
creativity, imagination, ambition
Conscience- Rom.2:14-15- direct sensing
of right & wrong
III.
Worth in relation to the payment for our
redemption
John
3:16, Romans 8:32
1) Creation & the Fall of Adam
explains our crisis—but only
cure is death of
Christ.
2) His substitutionary suffering bought us for
Himself-
Eph.5:2,
25-27
Evolutionists claim not to devalue human
life, but fail to
elevate it in the manner that Creationism
does.
