Intro: Luke 1:26-38- we will consider one of God’s greatest

acts—in some sense, perhaps greater than His creation of

heaven and earth.

I. The conception of Jesus was a miracle.

Definitions—

1) Prophesied by Isaiah

2) Performed by God, the Holy Spirit

3) Provided a body for God, the Son

4) Protected Jesus from Adam’s sin

II. The vessel of God’s service was a maiden.

1. She was not royalty—

2. She was a virgin

3. She was a handmaid

4. She was favored of God

III. The object of Jesus’ birth was a mission.

1. He is called a “Savior”

2. Thru incarnation, we could see the Eternal God in

human form revealing God’s character.

3. Jesus was like a missionary-
