I. Purpose of God’s Promises-

  II Cor.5:7, Rom.1:17

 

II. Power of God’s Promises- large # of promises-

1) To sustain in difficulty- II Cor.4:16, I Pet.1:6

 

2) To give hope in despair- Psa.119:52, 55

   There is the certainty of His promise- Heb.6:18,

   Romans 4:21

 

III. Performance of God’s Promises-

1) By comparison, other promises are weak and

prone to failure

 

2) see Number 23:19

 

IV. Positive nature of God’s Promises- a sense

Of expectation contributes to our happiness-

1. We have every reason to expect the best from God.

Rom.8:28, Psa.84:11

 

2. We have every reason to use the promises from

God to support our lives- Isaiah 50:10

 

3) We have every reason to exercise prayer to

exploit these promises- II Cor.1:20, I John 5:14
