Intro: Luke 19:28-44- describes the Triumphal Entry
and
Sorrow of Jesus over
Jerusalem
I.
Jesus had insight into the matter of
consequences.
1) Wisdom lies in the insight of
discern consequences-
Prov.14:12,
Psa.37:37
2) He was not sidetracked by
apparent sounds of faith and
love for
Him
3) He saw the uniqueness of the
circumstance and knew
the uniqueness of result- note
Jere.6:6-21
II.
Jesus interrupted festivities with
lamentation.
Lamentation=
emotional song of tragedy, sorrow, etc.
1) His emotions were wrapped up in
the unimaginable
change the
Jerusalem would
experience.
III.
Jesus revealed compassion instead of
cynicism.
1) While He saw through their
outward religious demonstration,
He was not bitter or
disillusioned.
*He was a Realist *John

2) He was moved to tears instead of
sarcasm.
IV.
Jesus anticipated the rejection of His
love.
