Intro: Ch.19:11-27- parable of 10
Minas—given to clarify
and
motivate.
I.
The expectations toward Jesus as an immediate
King
over Israel
were very real. Vs.11- “thought
the
Kingdom of
God should immediately
appear”
1) Messiah’s coming and restored
rule for Israel was in
OT
scripture- Psa.89:3-4, 34-37; Isa.9:6-7, 40:3-5,
10,11;
Amos 9:11-12; John 6;15
2) They failed to see
Israel would reject Him- Lk.9:22,
44
II.
That Jesus would first suffer and then be
glorified
was
missed by most.

1) Statements from OT-
Dan.9:25-26,
Zech.12:10
2) Explained in
NT- I Peter 1:10-11
and 2:7-8

classes
will
give account.

who is invested with kingdom
>Servants= those owned by Him
who serve Him
>Citizens= those who anticipate
His rule and refuse it
Give account- citizens are excluded from
kingdom
Servants receive
reward or loss
