the LORD.  111:2-4   note “works”- vs.2,3,4,6,7

1) Works- plural- quantity-  Job 5:9

2) Work- singular- quality- Psa.19:1-6

assonance =likeness of sound in a series of words

3) “remembered”- creation remembered –Sabbath-

Exodus 20:8-11     redemption- Passover

 

III. Specific statement on works of the LORD-

111:5-6  from general to particular

1) MINOR- “food to those..” = Manna in wilderness

2) MAJOR- “ever be mindful of His covenant”-

Ex.2:24, Lev. 26:44-45, Psa.105:7-11

3) MAJOR- “declared to His people”- Rom.1:16

4) MINOR- “giving ..heritage of nations” =removal of

Canaanite nations in Prom.Land

 

IV. Second comprehensive statement on the works

Of the LORD. 111:7-9-    vs.7 matches vs.2

1)“verity & justice”-

2) “all precepts are sure” (trustworthy-NIV)-  this is basis of

our assurance!

3) “sent redemption” =Exodus & return from Exile
